The Saudi Public Investment Fund reported that its net profit for 2025 reached 65.1 billion riyals, more than double the 25.8 billion riyals recorded in the previous year, Reuters stated. Revenue for the year totaled 449.9 billion riyals, marking a 9 percent increase from 413 billion riyals. Operating profit climbed to 77.9 billion riyals from 34.6 billion riyals. Total assets grew 5 percent to 4.54 trillion riyals, with cash and cash equivalents surpassing 350 billion riyals.

These results were detailed in the fund’s financial disclosure released on Tuesday. The figures were converted at an exchange rate of 3.7559 riyals to the dollar, Reuters reported. The strong performance was supported by portfolio companies and investment gains. The PIF has transitioned to become a key instrument in implementing Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 economic reform program.

A June 9, 2026, Reuters report placed the PIF’s assets under management at 910 billion dollars at the end of 2025, falling short of an earlier 1.09 trillion dollar target outlined in the Vision 2030 framework. The Vision 2030 Annual Report 2025 highlighted the PIF’s role in establishing a regional carbon market and attracting privatization investments exceeding 5.6 billion dollars. The program aims to reduce reliance on oil revenues through investments in tourism, technology and infrastructure.

Research published in the International Journal of Management and Financial Intelligence in September 2025 found a statistically significant positive correlation between PIF assets under management and Saudi GDP growth. The study reported a 45 percent rise in foreign direct investment into the non-oil sector and a 30 percent increase in domestic job creation from 2018 to 2023. PIF initiatives also contributed to greater stability in the Tadawul stock market during the period. The fund was restructured in 2015 to take a more active investment approach under the Vision 2030 plan.

Annual reports from the PIF have consistently shown strong growth in recent years, with the 2023 edition emphasizing advances in digital transformation and artificial intelligence adoption according to the fund’s disclosures. The fund’s 2021-2025 strategy directed more than 199 billion dollars into priority sectors, a PIF statement indicated. This has helped position Saudi Arabia as a hub for investments in areas such as tourism, technology and green finance. The PIF’s updated strategy for 2026 to 2030 aims to leverage these foundations for further industrial development.

The strong 2025 results arrive as Saudi Arabia is more than halfway through its Vision 2030 implementation, which seeks to diversify the economy away from oil dependence according to the annual report. Government data show progress in non-oil GDP and private sector contributions. The PIF remains central to these efforts by leading mega-projects and fostering foreign investment inflows.
