The Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that several people sustained various injuries after an Israeli drone struck a vehicle near the British Hospital southwest of the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. Several others were injured when an Israeli drone exploded near Muawiyah Mosque in the al-Mawasi area of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. A woman was also seriously injured after being shot in the head in the al-Mawasi area of Rafah. Local sources provided the details to WAFA on Monday.
Medical teams responded to the sites of the strikes to assist the wounded and transfer them to nearby facilities for treatment. The Palestinian news agency WAFA noted that the injuries varied in severity among those affected by the drone strikes and gunfire. Palestinian medical sources confirmed the cases as part of a series of incidents reported that day across the enclave. WAFA has consistently tracked such events through its correspondents on the ground.
The Palestinian news agency WAFA has documented that since the ceasefire in October 2025 more than 1,820 Palestinians have been killed or wounded as a result of more than 1,300 violations of the agreement. A separate WAFA dispatch placed the overall death toll from the conflict since October 2023 at more than 48,000 with over 111,000 injured though those figures remain incomplete due to access constraints. The agency obtained the statistics from Gaza health authorities who continue to update the counts from hospital records. WAFA indicated that many victims remain under rubble in affected areas.
The ceasefire agreement took effect in October 2025 and included provisions for Israeli forces to withdraw from populated areas in the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that the truce allowed for the gradual return of displaced persons to the northern parts of the enclave. Subsequent dispatches from WAFA have highlighted repeated gunfire artillery shelling and air strikes in violation of the terms. The agency has attributed the majority of post-ceasefire casualties to actions by Israeli forces.
Similar incidents have featured in other WAFA reports from earlier in the year including one from January that detailed wounds from shelling in Khan Younis and Jabalia. The Palestinian news agency WAFA said one Palestinian was shot by Israeli forces in the center of Khan Younis while several others were wounded in an Israeli bombardment of Old Gaza Street in Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip. Fire also resumed from Israeli military vehicles east of the city according to that WAFA correspondent. The agency has urged greater adherence to the ceasefire to reduce civilian harm.
