AEON Bank (M) Berhad said in a statement that it has expanded its business banking offerings with the addition of Term Financing-i and Working Capital Financing-i under the AEON Bank Biz vertical. Both facilities operate under the Murabahah via Tawarruq concept to deliver transparent and ethical solutions aligned with Shariah principles for businesses navigating market changes. The Term Financing-i product targets medium to long term needs including growth projects asset purchases and infrastructure development while preserving cash flow. It requires zero collateral carries no hidden charges on applications or utilisation and allows repayment tenures of up to 60 months with funds deposited directly into the customer’s Business Current Account-i.

Working Capital Financing-i functions as a flexible credit line to address short term operational gaps and financial cycles according to the AEON Bank statement. Customers gain access to high value liquidity with multiple disbursement options within an approved limit that extends up to three years and includes the ability to repay principal to refresh the limit without new applications. The facility supports up to 12 months of disbursements handled entirely online with proceeds transferred straight to the Business Current Account-i. Terms and conditions apply to both products the bank noted.

The latest facilities build upon AEON Bank Biz which the company introduced on August 8 2025 as a comprehensive Shariah compliant platform for business owners across Malaysia. This vertical centres on the Business Current Account-i that integrates cash management for seamless DuitNow and RENTAS processing along with instant settlements for DuitNow QR. Businesses can also utilise the Biz Term Deposit-i to optimise idle funds with competitive profit rates of up to 3.20 percent per annum on tenures as short as one day starting from RM500 and benefit from multi-user governance controls that reflect corporate standards.

AEON Bank (M) Berhad first launched as Malaysia’s inaugural digital Islamic bank on May 26 2024 licensed and regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia and the Ministry of Finance. The institution equally owned by AEON Financial Service Co. Ltd. of Japan and AEON Credit Service (M) Berhad forms part of the AEON Group which maintains more than 200 years of history and operates retail and financial businesses across Asia. All eligible deposit products including those under AEON Bank Biz receive protection up to RM250,000 per depositor through membership in Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia.

The expansion coincides with national efforts to elevate small and medium enterprise contributions to gross domestic product according to the 13th Malaysia Plan. SME Corp Malaysia has targeted RM1 trillion in GDP impact from the sector by 2030 which would lift the current share of around 38 percent to 50 percent. Financing access through digital channels ranks among the primary enablers for achieving this objective the plan documents indicate.

Fitch Ratings reported in February that Malaysian Islamic banks are positioned to maintain robust asset and financing growth through 2026 outpacing conventional peers amid favourable conditions. A Mordor Intelligence assessment placed the global Islamic finance market at USD5.10 trillion in 2026 with a projected compound annual growth rate of 10.7 percent through 2031. AEON Bank (M) Berhad emphasised its use of artificial intelligence and fintech to streamline onboarding credit assessments and approvals as part of its role in advancing Malaysia’s digital economy and Islamic finance hub status.
