Maser Group announced that Prateek Suri, born in New Delhi and educated at BITS Pilani Dubai Campus, serves as its chairman and CEO while guiding the conglomerate’s expansion into new sectors. The company said in a statement that it is deploying MDR Investments to target artificial intelligence-enabled data centres, digital infrastructure to support cloud computing growth, mining operations focused on gold and copper, plus logistics and shipping activities. The announcement detailed how these moves build on the group’s established presence across Africa and the Middle East with an eye toward long-term economic development and digital transformation in emerging markets.

The statement outlined Maser Group’s prior success in consumer electronics, where it distributed televisions, air conditioners, audio equipment and household appliances throughout Africa and the Middle East. Annual revenues from that division surpassed $1 billion by the end of 2024 before the group completed a successful exit. This track record now provides the platform for its current diversification, according to the company’s release.

Maser Group identified AI as a core pillar of its forward strategy through investments in data centres and supporting digital systems. The announcement noted that rising demand for cloud computing underpins these initiatives across the regions where the group operates. MDR Investments will oversee the rollout of these technology-focused projects as part of the broader expansion.

Infrastructure development, shipping, logistics and mining form additional legs of the strategy detailed in the statement. The group highlighted its Emarald subsidiary, which supplies waterproofing solutions, steel products and construction materials to markets in Africa and the Gulf. These businesses aim to address sustained demand in construction and resource sectors, the company reported.

Social impact forms an integral element of the group’s activities through the Maser Foundation. The statement described foundation programmes centred on women’s empowerment, healthcare access and educational opportunities in operating regions. Suri’s leadership integrates these initiatives alongside the commercial expansion, according to the announcement.

A PwC Middle East assessment of regional digital infrastructure highlighted accelerating investments in data centre capacity across the GCC and Africa to meet AI-driven demand. The consultancy’s review placed the trend within wider technology adoption that has seen compound annual growth rates for related services exceed 15 percent in recent years. The Maser Group statement positioned its initiatives within this environment of expanding cloud and computing requirements.
