Emirates News Agency reported that Sharjah has initiated early preparations for the January 2027 edition of its Sharjah Real Estate Exhibition, known as ACRES, as part of a new multi-year strategic roadmap. The initiative falls under directives from His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and focuses on sustainable investment aligned with the emirate’s broader economic development agenda. The 2026 edition of ACRES attracted more than 18,000 visitors and featured over 120 exhibitors showcasing more than 200 real estate projects, generating transactions exceeding AED 5 billion according to the announcement.

The ACRES Future Vision establishes a comprehensive framework to expand the exhibition to new international destinations while adapting to shifts in real estate development profiles, the Emirates News Agency stated. Specialised events will address sustainable property development together with advanced technologies in the sector. Advisory sessions and expert-led workshops will additionally examine Sharjah’s regulatory framework to assist investors operating at local, regional and international scales.

Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said in the statement that the Sharjah Real Estate Exhibition has evolved into a flagship platform that mirrors the emirate’s economic stature. Al Owais noted the event’s alignment with sustainable economic development priorities set by the ruler. Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Shamsi, director-general of the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department, stated that the department has commenced early preparations for the 2027 edition and aims to deliver an exceptional event that builds on prior successes.

Saeed Ghanem Al Suwaidi, director of the exhibitions department at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that ACRES demonstrates the real estate sector’s strategic role in supporting Sharjah’s economic growth. The comments formed part of the coordinated announcement outlining future expansion plans for the exhibition. Officials emphasised that the roadmap will strengthen ACRES as both a regional and international platform for real estate investment.

The strategy extends the momentum from previous editions, including ACRES 2025 which the official Sharjah government website reported drew 110 exhibitors between January 22 and 25 at Expo Centre Sharjah. Sharjah’s real estate market has shown consistent expansion, with the Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department recording AED 4.6 billion in transactions during Ramadan 2026 alone, representing a 71.8 percent year-on-year increase according to official statements. This performance underscores the sector’s resilience amid regulatory enhancements introduced in 2024 that modernised tenancy laws and dispute resolution mechanisms, a legal assessment by BSA Law found.

Further measures, such as transaction fee reductions of up to 2 percent implemented ahead of the 2026 edition, have been credited with stimulating investor participation according to a report by Arabian Business. The cumulative steps position Sharjah to capitalise on growing demand for sustainable and technology-integrated developments across the region. The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry indicated that ongoing coordination among relevant departments will ensure the 2027 ACRES delivers targeted outcomes for both developers and investors.
