Kuwait’s Fire Force contained a fire at a residential complex in the Capital governorate on September 2 after the site sustained a strike from a hostile drone. According to the Kuwait News Agency, spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Al-Gharib described the incident as resulting from Iranian aggression. Firefighting teams from the Al-Hilali and Al-Madina stations arrived at the scene shortly after the blaze began and worked to bring it under control without delay.

The Kuwait Fire Force said in a statement that crews initiated operations immediately upon notification of the drone impact. Al-Gharib highlighted the efficiency of the response in preventing the fire from spreading to adjacent areas of the complex. No escalation occurred, and the situation was stabilised within hours of the initial report.

KUNA figures relayed by the spokesman placed the human impact at zero injuries among any individuals present at the residential site. Material damage was confined to a limited section of the building, the official added. This outcome followed a swift intervention that avoided broader structural compromise.

This latest incident forms part of a series of drone strikes reported in Kuwait during 2026. Reuters reported in April that Iranian drones had targeted the Shuwaikh oil sector complex housing the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation headquarters, resulting in fires that authorities later contained with no casualties reported. Similar patterns have emerged in strikes on power facilities and other infrastructure, according to multiple regional assessments.

The Kuwait Fire Force has maintained operational readiness for such events across civilian and critical sites. Al-Gharib stressed in the briefing the importance of immediate deployment to minimise risks in urban residential zones. The Capital governorate’s dense population underscores the potential severity had the response been slower.

Investigators have begun examining the precise details of the drone strike under protocols established by Kuwaiti security agencies. The official statement stopped short of providing technical specifications on the projectile involved. Kuwait has previously summoned Iranian diplomats in response to comparable attacks, as documented in earlier statements from the foreign ministry.
