Adnoc, XRG and Masdar announced agreements with leading German companies on September 11, 2026. The pacts have the potential to enable more than €5 billion of investment in Germany’s energy and industrial sectors. They were signed during the state visit by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Germany. The companies said the deals combine the UAE’s expertise in energy and long-term capital with Germany’s industrial and technological capabilities.
The National reported that Adnoc and RWE signed a letter of intent for long-term LNG sales agreements. The publication noted that the supplies could start in the early 2030s. Agreements with SEFE and MB Energy were also signed. These deals focus on gas to support energy needs in Germany.
Masdar and RWE signed an agreement to consider joint participation in future German offshore wind auctions, according to Adnoc’s announcement. Masdar and Luxcara established a strategic partnership to explore joint investments in offshore wind and battery storage projects in Germany and wider Europe. The renewable deals build upon Masdar’s previous projects in the country. Adnoc data places the output of the Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm, in which Masdar holds a stake, as sufficient to power around 475,000 German homes.
Adnoc signed strategic collaboration agreements with Bosch Middle East, Siemens Energy and Siemens Industrial. These pacts will explore collaboration on advanced technology and artificial intelligence. The National indicated that the AI partnerships align with the two countries’ focus on innovation and digital infrastructure. The agreements form part of a larger effort to foster technological exchange.
The latest agreements build on more than €20 billion already invested by ADNOC, XRG and Masdar across Germany’s energy and industrial base, the statement said. This includes XRG’s €14 billion investment in Covestro. It also encompasses Masdar’s investment in the Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm. Adnoc figures show the wind farm generates enough renewable electricity to power approximately 475,000 German homes.
The deals were announced alongside the launch of the UAE-Germany Investment Council. The council will bring together government, capital and companies to identify opportunities and accelerate growth. The National reported that the agreements form part of a broader €40 billion in intended long-term UAE investment in Germany. Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber said, “The UAE and Germany are building on decades of trusted partnership to advance economic growth and shared prosperity for the long-term.”
