Medical authorities reported that an Israeli strike targeted a vehicle in Gaza City’s Tal al-Hawa neighborhood on Sunday, resulting in two deaths and 13 injuries. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said its Al-Quds Hospital received the wounded while the fatalities were transferred to Al-Shifa Medical Complex for identification. Local staff appealed for information from the public that might assist in determining the identities of those killed, according to details shared with international wire services.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society confirmed its crews responded to the scene of the drone strike and managed treatment for all 13 injured individuals. Witnesses in the area described the vehicle as mangled following the impact of at least two missiles. Rescue operations continued in the neighborhood as civil defense teams worked to secure the site amid local panic.

The Israeli military stated that the strike had targeted two Hamas operatives traveling in the vehicle. Officials provided no further details on the individuals or the intelligence supporting the operation. The incident occurred as part of broader military activity across Gaza despite a ceasefire that began in October 2025.

Gaza’s health ministry reported that Israeli ceasefire violations had killed 1,369 Palestinians and wounded 4,627 others as of Saturday. The ministry’s data places the overall toll from hostilities since October 2023 at more than 73,000 killed and over 174,000 injured. These figures reflect cumulative reporting from hospitals and medical teams throughout the enclave.

Local sources described additional actions on Sunday that included shelling of residential homes northeast of the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza. Israeli military vehicles opened fire toward buildings and displacement tents in southern Khan Younis, according to witnesses who spoke to regional media. Warships also directed fire along the Khan Younis coastline in what residents characterized as part of intensified operations in the south.

Tal al-Hawa has experienced repeated strikes since the current round of conflict began, according to records maintained by Gaza’s civil defense teams. The neighborhood’s location in western Gaza City has made it a frequent site for such incidents involving both vehicles and residential structures. Medical complexes like Al-Shifa have handled the majority of casualties from these events over the past years.
