According to NPR an Iranian drone attack on Kuwait International Airport on June 3 killed one Indian national and injured 63 others leading to a temporary shutdown of the facility. The strike damaged a passenger terminal and prompted Kuwait to vow retaliation at the time.
Al Jazeera reported that further Iranian missile and drone assaults targeted the Ali Al Salem airbase in Kuwait on June 10 as retaliation for US actions in the Strait of Hormuz. Kuwaiti authorities indicated that most projectiles were intercepted without causing casualties in that instance. These events have escalated concerns over the fragile ceasefire between the US and Iran.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps announced on June 28 that it carried out joint operations targeting US military sites in Kuwait and Bahrain according to reports from Tehran Times. The Kuwaiti statement aligns with similar condemnations issued by Bahrain and other regional states following the incidents. The foreign ministry has consistently emphasized that such attacks endanger civilian lives and vital infrastructure.
