The Jordanian Armed Forces said its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed five missiles launched from Iran toward the kingdom early on July 30, 2026. The military described the operation as having been conducted with efficiency and professionalism, ensuring the projectiles did not reach Jordanian territory. No casualties resulted from the event, the armed forces stated in an account distributed by Qatar News Agency.

Qatar News Agency disseminated the official statement, which detailed how the interception thwarted any attempt to target the kingdom. The armed forces noted they would not tolerate any threat to the country’s security or the safety of its citizens. The communication stressed the military’s responsibility to safeguard national airspace and sovereignty.

This incident follows earlier defensive actions by Jordan in July 2026. A military source told The Times of Israel on July 14 that Jordan had downed four Iranian missiles which entered its territory. Al Jazeera released videos on July 9 showing interceptions in Jordanian skies, where the armed forces confirmed at least eight missiles were engaged as sirens activated in several cities.

Jordan intercepted and shot down over 156 Iranian drones and 132 missiles launched at Israel from Iran during a 12-day war, Roya News English reported. The tally reflects the extent of aerial threats the kingdom has confronted amid regional hostilities. Coverage from Yahoo News and other outlets has referenced coordination with the United States in response to the Iranian launches.

The latest interception produced no reported damage, consistent with the outcomes in the prior incidents according to the various accounts. The Jordanian Armed Forces statement provided no additional specifics on the missiles’ paths or origins beyond confirming their destruction. Regional monitoring has indicated continued alerts across Jordan in connection with these events.
