The GCC Ministerial Council on June 10, 2026, condemned Iranian drone and ballistic missile attacks against Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan as blatant aggression violating international law. In a statement from its 167th meeting in Manama, the council expressed solidarity with the targeted states, affirmed that an attack on one is an attack on all and asserted the right to respond under the UN Charter.
The Ministerial Council said in the statement that these hostile acts do not serve understanding or rapprochement but instead distance peoples, undermine trust and close doors to dialogue. Such aggression does not build relations and intimidation does not create stability, according to the text. The council expressed its full solidarity and firm support while standing united with the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
According to the statement, the council reassured citizens and residents that joint defence capabilities and air defence systems are confronting the attacks with high efficiency and readiness. The leaderships of the GCC states are moving forward in safeguarding the security and stability of the region. These attacks will only increase the cohesion, determination and resolve of the peoples of the GCC states to resist and confront them, the Ministerial Council added.
The statement holds Iran fully responsible for these acts and their grave repercussions on the security of the region, international navigation and energy supplies. It demands their immediate cessation and a complete end to any targeting of the GCC states, their interests and their citizens. The Ministerial Council called upon the Security Council and the international community to assume their responsibilities in condemning this aggression and holding its perpetrators accountable.
In its closing remarks the Ministerial Council renewed the GCC states’ commitment to the option of peace, good neighbourliness and diplomatic solutions as a means of settling disputes. It posed the question “How can future relations be built amid the continuation of these attacks and the insistence on pursuing them?” The council indicated that persistence in the path of aggression will only lead to further isolation while the door to understanding remains open to those who choose the language of wisdom and good neighbourliness.
This latest condemnation follows a similar strong statement issued by an extraordinary GCC Ministerial Council meeting on March 1, 2026, which likewise rejected Iranian attacks on GCC countries and Jordan according to the GCC Secretariat’s published records. That earlier document also stressed the indivisibility of GCC security and the right to respond under international law. A forecast from the Security Council Report in April 2026 highlighted ongoing UN-GCC cooperation amid repeated regional tensions.
The June 10 statement emphasized that the attacks will only increase the determination of GCC states to confront such threats through unified action and efficient defense systems already in operation. It follows a pattern of GCC responses to Iranian actions addressed in multiple ministerial gatherings over recent months. The Security Council Report noted that such gatherings continue to focus on defending sovereignty and regional stability.
