Reuters reported that Tabby raised the $233 million from existing investors in a Series F round led by Blue Pool Capital with participation from HSG, Wellington Management and Arbor Ventures. The Saudi Arabia-headquartered company, which counts Mubadala among its shareholders, had reached a $4.5 billion valuation in an October 2025 share sale. The latest transaction included both new and existing shares and will deliver liquidity to employees who have realised more than $100 million through share tenders since 2023.

Chief executive Hosam Arab told Reuters the capital would support deeper operations in the firm’s two primary markets. “The proceeds are primarily about giving us the capital to go deeper in our two core markets,” Arab said. He noted that every licence and product introduced since the firm’s origins has remained aligned with helping consumers manage their money more effectively.

Tabby has maintained profitability since 2023 while scaling to more than $18 billion in annualised transaction volume, the company said. The platform serves 25 million registered users through relationships with 70,000 merchants, according to its figures. Its Saudi subsidiary recorded $378 million in revenue and $55 million in net profit during 2025, representing 42 percent and 82 percent growth respectively according to Dealroom.co data.

The Saudi Central Bank granted Tabby licences for consumer and SME financing over the past year, allowing longer-term credit and working capital products, Arab News reported. Tabby also completed the acquisition of Tweeq, a digital wallet already licensed by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority, expanding its capabilities to include accounts, cards and transfers. These moves form part of a measured progression from its original buy-now-pay-later service.

In the UAE the Central Bank issued a Stored Value Facilities licence that permits the introduction of Tabby Cash, described by the company as a no-fee alternative to debit accounts that provides cashback and enables local and cross-border transfers. Tabby was established in 2019, shifted its headquarters to Saudi Arabia in 2023 and attained unicorn status that year at a valuation exceeding $1.5 billion, Bloomberg noted. The current $6.5 billion valuation surpasses the market capitalisation of European peer Klarna.

Saudi Arabia’s fintech industry continues to expand under the National Fintech Strategy that promotes digital payments, lending innovation and regulatory modernisation, according to Arab News. The policy framework has encouraged licensing activity and collaboration between authorities and private operators. Tabby indicated the fresh funding will accelerate development of additional credit, payments and money-management tools while preserving its existing growth discipline.
