Palestinian medical sources reported the strike occurred near Hamid Junction in Gaza City, claiming most of the injured were children. The victims were transferred to Al-Shifa Hospital and other facilities for treatment following the attack. According to local accounts, a second strike targeted another vehicle in the vicinity, adding to the casualty count.

The WAFA news agency stated that Israeli forces also fired on areas in central Gaza, wounding a six-year-old girl east of the Al-Bureij refugee camp. Additional injuries were reported from gunfire near Khan Younis in the south. Drones and military vehicles were active in multiple neighborhoods, leading to further tension on the ground.

Gaza’s Health Ministry has recorded 1,344 deaths and 4,481 injuries since the Oct. 11, 2025, ceasefire, the ministry’s data shows. The overall toll since Oct. 7, 2023, stands at 73,651 killed and 174,592 wounded, including women and children. These numbers reflect the impact of continued military operations in the enclave, the ministry said.

A statement from the Palestinian Center for Human Rights described the attacks as part of an ongoing pattern of violations, citing specific cases where children were among those killed in similar strikes over the previous days. The group called for accountability for the incidents that have stretched medical resources thin. Medical sources indicated that some of the wounded from the vehicle strike were bystanders.

The health system in Gaza has been operating under significant pressure due to the frequency of such events, officials with the ministry noted. International humanitarian agencies have tracked the rising numbers with concern, according to reports from the region. Separate strikes in Khan Younis and other areas have compounded the challenges for emergency responders.
