The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on August 31 condemning renewed Iranian attacks on the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. According to the ministry the continued attacks represent a direct threat to the security and safety of sisterly countries and their peoples. The statement noted that these actions risk widening the confrontation and undermining prospects for restoring regional stability.

In its announcement the ministry reiterated Egypt’s full solidarity with the UAE and Jordan. It stressed the need to respect states’ sovereignty and territorial integrity while safeguarding the security of navigation and freedom of movement for vessels in maritime corridors and straits according to international law. The foreign ministry warned of the serious repercussions of continued escalation on regional security and stability.

The statement called for an immediate halt to the attacks, de-escalation of tensions and a return to the negotiating table. It urged giving diplomatic efforts a chance to reach solutions that restore security and stability and spare the region the risks of a wider confrontation. This latest move comes after the ministry issued parallel condemnations in July 2026 following a broader wave of strikes, the State Information Service reported.

The State Information Service documented that Egypt strongly condemned the aggressive Iranian attacks in those earlier incidents as a blatant violation of sovereignty. Those statements reaffirmed complete solidarity with the affected states and support for measures to protect their security and territorial integrity. The service noted that the ministry has repeatedly emphasized that no justification can be accepted for such actions.

Jordan’s armed forces, in statements covered by Egypt Today, reported intercepting Iranian ballistic missiles entering their airspace on multiple occasions this year. The UAE has also reported interceptions of missiles and drones with some resulting in injuries, according to the country’s defense ministry updates. These events have formed the backdrop for Egypt’s ongoing diplomatic responses.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has maintained that the security and stability of fellow Arab states form an integral part of Egyptian national security. In an earlier ministerial meeting covered by the State Information Service in March, the foreign minister reaffirmed Egypt’s categorical rejection of the attacks. The consistent position calls for immediate cessation of escalatory actions and full adherence to international law.
