Gatik announced a $200 million Series D funding round that brings its total capital raised to approximately $500 million since emerging from stealth mode in 2019. The round was led by Qatar Investment Authority and Koch Disruptive Technologies, with participation from Millennium Management, ARK Invest and Intact Private Capital, according to a TechCrunch report on the announcement. The company did not disclose its post-money valuation. This investment arrives as Gatik transitions from pilot programs to running commercial driverless operations with multiple customers in several locations.
The funding follows a multi-year commercial agreement with PepsiCo signed in June 2026, under which 41 driverless box trucks now transport Frito-Lay snacks including Cheetos and Doritos from distribution centers to stores in Dallas, Phoenix and Northwest Arkansas. Gatik specializes in middle-mile logistics, moving goods between warehouses and retail outlets, a niche that has enabled it to build significant commercial traction. The startup also serves other major clients such as Walmart, Tyson Foods and Canadian grocer Loblaw across operations in Texas, Arizona, Arkansas and Canada. The partnership marks Gatik’s largest commercial autonomous freight deployment to date.
Company figures show Gatik has secured more than $600 million in contracted revenue and has completed 85,000 fully driverless orders with a 99 percent on-time delivery rate. These metrics underscore the performance of autonomous technology in real-world supply chains. Gatik declined to share its exact fleet size or the names of all customers.
A Global Market Insights report projects the global self-driving truck market will expand from $3.2 billion in 2026 to $63.8 billion by 2035, reflecting a compound annual growth rate of 39.4 percent. North America holds a substantial share of this market, driven by advances in autonomous technology and demand for efficient freight solutions amid driver shortages. Gatik’s focus on high-frequency regional routes positions the company within this expansion, the assessment found.
The new capital will enable Gatik to expand its fleet, routes and customer base while growing beyond its current workforce of 350 employees. The company plans to target more than 100 driverless trucks by the end of 2026 as it scales operations to meet rising demand from retailers and grocers. Investments will also support continued development of its AI-powered autonomous system.
Gautam Narang, Gatik’s co-founder and chief executive, said, “We have built Gatik with real revenue, deep customer demand, and AI-driven autonomous technology proven every day in live supply chains.” Abdulla Al-Kuwari, head of industrials at Qatar Investment Authority, stated, “Autonomous freight is transforming the global logistics industry, making it more efficient and reliable.” The backers cited Gatik’s execution record, customer traction and technical maturity as reasons for the investment.
