The Palestinian News and Information Agency reported that a 16-year-old Palestinian was injured after settlers beat him near the Ain Shibli checkpoint southeast of Tubas. In the Bethlehem governorate Israeli soldiers raided the Aida and Al-Azza refugee camps north of the city along with the towns of Al-Ubeidiya, Dar Salah, Ash-Shawawra and Za’atara to the east where they patrolled the streets. No arrests were reported in those locations even as the operations formed part of a larger pattern of activity that day.
In the Jenin governorate forces detained four Palestinians including three from the same family during a raid on a residential building near the Arab American University and took another young man from the Al-Marah neighborhood in Jenin city into custody. Early on Saturday the forces raided the village of Bir Al-Basha south of Jenin storming and searching multiple homes while smashing their contents and mistreating residents the agency said. A separate raid in Shweika north of Tulkarm resulted in the detention of a man after soldiers searched his home.
Several Palestinians including children experienced suffocation when Israeli soldiers fired toxic gas canisters in the village of Al Mughayyir northeast of Ramallah following a settler rampage in the nearby Shaab al-Louz neighborhood where attackers tried to enter homes. The agency added that forces detained a young man from Silwan south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque after assaulting him in Jerusalem’s Batn Al-Hawa neighborhood. These incidents occurred as part of the increased military and settler activity reported throughout the region.
The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported that Israeli soldiers and settlers carried out 2,256 rampages against Palestinians their lands and property in July. The commission’s figures show 1,458 of those rampages were conducted by Israeli forces and 798 by settlers. The attacks concentrated in Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate with 260 followed by Nablus with 247 Jenin with 190 Bethlehem with 185 and Hebron with 170.
The commission stated these figures reflect an integration of Israeli military force with settler attacks through the provision of protection and support that allows the rampages to expand and turns their results into continued realities on the ground. The commission released its July assessment as new incidents continued to be reported in August. Its data provides a monthly snapshot of developments in the territory.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs has recorded a sharp rise in settler violence across the West Bank in 2026 with the pace of attacks reaching record levels. OCHA data indicates that more than 1,200 incidents causing casualties or property damage occurred in the first half of the year affecting over 230 Palestinian communities and displacing thousands. The UN agency reported that fatalities linked to settler attacks this year had surpassed the total for all of 2025 by July.
