Hong Kong Disneyland Resort said in a statement that the Chip ‘n’ Dale Lucky Nugget Spin, launched in April at Grizzly Gulch, had recorded more than 30,000 participations by the end of June. The activity merges storytelling, live interactions and surprises to enhance the land’s atmosphere while turning merchandise into lasting souvenirs from guests’ visits. David Koo, director of merchandise at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, stated, “Today’s guests are looking for more than products; they want keepsakes that capture the stories and memories of their visit. Through interactive experiences, we hope to make merchandise a natural extension of the Disney park journey. Whether it is a plush toy, a pin or an accessory, the true value lies not only in the item itself, but in the magical moments and personal memories it represents.” The resort’s approach responds to rising demand for participatory travel, with the spin emerging as one of the park’s leading attractions in a short period.

The same announcement detailed parallel interactive offerings already in place across the resort. Guests at the Popcorn Pop-Up Shop on Main Street, U.S.A., reach into a giant popcorn bucket installation to reveal hidden Pixar pals plushies alongside Disney cast members. The Snow White Grotto beside the Castle of Magical Dreams features a new Lock of Dreams activity that adds a sense of ceremony and provides a souvenir for participants to keep. These elements build on the core strategy of weaving retail into the narrative flow of a park visit.

Main Street Collectibles reopened in June with dedicated display areas that celebrate Disney’s longstanding pin trading tradition, according to the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort statement. Visitors hunt for favorite designs, trade with cast members and fellow collectors, and treat each pin as a carrier of unique memories that extends the experience beyond the gates. The initiative reinforces emotional connections by positioning collectibles as integral to the overall journey rather than standalone purchases.

Merchandise tied to the resort’s 20th anniversary, which concluded in June, drove significant commercial results. Hong Kong Disneyland Resort figures show more than 3.5 million themed items sold since late June 2025, with roughly 600,000 units from the SouvenEARS collection. Blind-box series inspired by attractions and themed lands posted sales exceeding 500,000 units during fiscal year 2025, underscoring the draw of storytelling-focused products.

Those sales contributed to the resort’s broader fiscal 2025 performance, when Hong Kong Disneyland Resort reported 7.5 million in attendance alongside near-record revenue, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation, and net profit. Per capita guest spending climbed 2 percent from the previous year to a historic high, the resort’s earlier financial release showed. The anniversary’s combination of exclusive merchandise, food and beverage items, and new entertainment helped sustain momentum among local, mainland Chinese and international audiences.

New Pixar-themed and Marvel-themed experiences are scheduled for introduction in coming months, the July 11 statement added. The additions will broaden both entertainment options and associated retail opportunities throughout the property. Such expansions align with the resort’s ongoing efforts to innovate in response to guest preferences for deeper engagement at a destination that has drawn millions since opening two decades ago.
