The Saudi Foreign Ministry said Prince Faisal bin Farhan held talks with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi in the Jordanian capital. The discussions took place on the margins of a ministerial meeting hosted by Jordan in support of Jerusalem and its holy sites. The two sides reviewed bilateral relations between the kingdom and ways to develop them further in various fields. They also addressed broader regional developments with a focus on the West Bank and Gaza Strip along with related diplomatic efforts.

According to the ministry, Prince Faisal bin Farhan stressed during a related press conference that protecting Jerusalem remains a fundamental pillar of any just and lasting peace. He added that Israeli unilateral measures in the Palestinian territories are null and void. The Saudi Foreign Ministry issued its account of the meeting shortly after the talks concluded on Wednesday.

Arab News reported that the ministerial meeting drew participants to coordinate on developments in occupied Jerusalem and associated holy sites. Jordan had proposed convening the Arab and Islamic gathering following heightened concerns over the Palestinian situation. Saudi Arabia welcomed the Jordanian initiative in recent diplomatic contacts, a Pakistani Foreign Ministry statement issued six days earlier indicated.

The Saudi Press Agency earlier distributed details that aligned with the Arab News coverage of the Amman discussions. Both ministers have engaged in repeated coordination on Palestinian matters in recent years through similar forums. Their latest meeting reflects ongoing GCC and Arab efforts to maintain a unified stance on regional files.

Jordanian officials have hosted multiple rounds of such consultations since tensions escalated in the Palestinian territories, according to regional diplomatic records. The latest gathering builds on prior sessions that emphasised humanitarian and political tracks. Saudi Arabia continues to advocate for de-escalation and a path toward a two-state solution in its public positions at such meetings.
