Ismail Al Thawabta, director of the Gaza Government Media Office, said Israel had committed more than 4,000 official breaches of the ceasefire since its first phase began, according to a statement carried by Qatar News Agency. These violations included ground, air and sea attacks along with direct assaults on residential neighborhoods and shelter centers across the enclave. Al Thawabta added that the Israeli occupation army continued to carry out methodical breaches that challenged international humanitarian law and disregarded UN resolutions, a pattern the office has monitored and recorded since October 2025.
The breaches have killed over 1,252 Palestinians, most of them women and children, while injuring more than 4,120 others with varying degrees of severity, the Gaza Government Media Office statement showed. Such casualties have placed additional strain on the territory’s already overburdened health system. The director noted that the accumulated figures demonstrated a premeditated intent to sustain aggression and worsen the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
Al Thawabta emphasized that these figures constitute full-fledged war crimes and crimes against humanity to be added to the record of the Israeli occupation in terms of the war of annihilation against the Palestinian people. He highlighted that these unabated abuses realistically test the credibility of the international community, the Security Council and human rights organizations. The office has previously reported rising violation counts, with Al Jazeera reporting in November 2025 that the same body had logged nearly 500 breaches in the first 44 days after the ceasefire began on October 10, 2025.
A June 2026 humanitarian update from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs placed the casualty toll from post-ceasefire incidents at 936 fatalities and 2,903 injuries as of early June, according to data from Gaza’s Ministry of Health. The Gaza Government Media Office tally released this week reflects a continued increase in both violations and victims through the summer. UN experts had warned in November 2025 that repeated Israeli attacks threatened the fragile truce, citing at least 393 violations up to that point.
Al Thawabta stressed the importance of shifting from merely making verbal condemnations to taking practical and deterrent actions that compel the Israeli occupation to halt its onslaught and hold its leaders accountable before international courts. The director held the Israeli occupation and the US administration fully and directly responsible for the dangerous implications of the ceasefire collapse and the perpetuation of the bloodbath. He asserted that these situations wouldn’t undermine the indomitability of the Palestinian people.
