The Electricity and Water Authority reported that power supply returned to full operation across every affected location in Bahrain following the brief disruption that struck several parts of the kingdom late on July 7. In its statement carried by the Bahrain News Agency, the authority noted that specialized technical teams had monitored the situation from the outset and implemented necessary measures to reconnect the grid without delay. EWA added that the outage remained limited in scope and that all customers regained service as operations normalized. The authority also used the update to reiterate that members of the public should seek information exclusively from official government channels to ensure accuracy during such incidents.

According to the EWA statement, crews acted immediately upon detecting the outage and completed restoration work by early morning on July 8. The authority stopped short of disclosing any potential cause for the disruption in its public announcement. Officials emphasized coordination across operational units to minimize impact on residents and essential services throughout the affected zones. This approach mirrors standard procedures the authority has refined in response to prior network events.

EWA data from its latest summer performance update showed a 40.5 percent decrease in electricity outage cases compared with the previous year, with 90 percent of affected cases restored within less than one hour. The authority’s figures also placed peak electricity load at 4,017 megawatts during the period, reflecting a 3 percent annual increase that tested network capacity. Total generation capacity reached 5,044 megawatts, according to the same EWA statistics, confirming the system’s ability to meet rising demand. Network outages fell by 58.3 percent and outage duration dropped by 57.5 percent on a year-on-year basis.

The restoration in Bahrain occurred on the same day that Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy completed similar work to reinstate supply across residential areas after its own outages. A Reuters report published on July 8 placed both incidents within a short timeframe, citing statements from the respective authorities. In the Kuwait case, supply returned after teams re-fed affected zones from the main grid, the news agency stated. The parallel developments drew attention across regional energy desks.

Bahrain News Agency served as the primary vehicle for disseminating the EWA announcement to local and international audiences. The authority functions as the principal provider of electricity and water utilities for the kingdom’s population, which exceeds 1.5 million residents. Its operations fall under ongoing national sustainability initiatives aimed at enhancing service reliability. Separate coverage from Arab News on July 8 echoed the EWA position that service had returned to normal levels without further interruption.

EWA has pursued broader infrastructure upgrades in recent years to accommodate growing commercial and residential loads while reducing outage frequency. An interview with the authority’s president carried by Oxford Business Group highlighted alignment with Bahrain’s national sustainability goals through these transformations. The utility continues to publish annual statistics that track improvements in response times and overall network performance. Such data provide benchmarks for gauging progress against seasonal demand peaks.
