The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah received a telephone call from Hakan Fidan on Wednesday. During the conversation the two ministers examined steps to reduce tensions across the region through sustained coordination between their governments. They aligned on unifying initiatives that support broader regional security and stability amid ongoing developments.

The ministry’s statement indicated that the call continues a pattern of regular high-level exchanges between Riyadh and Ankara on shared concerns. The Saudi Press Agency has reported a number of similar discussions in recent weeks involving Prince Faisal and his Turkish counterpart. These interactions have repeatedly stressed the value of diplomatic channels in preventing further escalation.

Arab News reported that Prince Faisal and Fidan held a comparable call on August 11 during which they addressed maritime security in the Arabian Gulf and Red Sea. That earlier discussion focused on protecting freedom of navigation in vital trade routes that have faced repeated disruptions. The ministers also considered ways to expand bilateral cooperation in multiple fields.

Saudi Arabia has advanced maritime security through the creation of a Multinational Maritime Defense Coalition that attracted representatives from 43 countries and organizations to its founding session in Riyadh according to Arab News. Additional nations have since joined the Saudi-led group which concentrates on safeguarding passage through the Red Sea Bab al-Mandab Strait and Gulf of Aden. The initiative forms part of wider efforts to maintain uninterrupted movement along routes essential for international commerce and energy supplies.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that Prince Faisal conducted a parallel conversation on the same day with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. The two calls formed a coordinated sequence centered on joint diplomatic work to ease tensions. Such parallel outreach illustrates the Kingdom’s emphasis on inclusive consultation with neighboring states facing common regional challenges.

The Saudi cabinet chaired by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has reaffirmed its backing for comprehensive diplomatic solutions that preserve state sovereignty and keep strategic waterways secure according to Saudi Gazette accounts. These positions have been consistently reflected in the ministry’s summaries of ministerial communications. The repeated calls demonstrate the priority both Saudi Arabia and Turkey assign to coordinated action that favors dialogue over confrontation.
