Gaza’s health ministry detailed the fatalities in a statement listing the victims as two adults and one child from incidents involving Israeli strikes and ground fire across multiple areas. The ministry placed one death near Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza while the others occurred in Gaza City districts where medics transported the injured to already overburdened hospitals. According to the ministry the events reflect a pattern that has intensified since the ceasefire took hold undermining regional stabilization efforts.

A Reuters dispatch from Cairo confirmed the health officials’ tally and noted that the Israeli military said in a statement it had struck several militants including one identified target. Family members told medics that the strikes hit residential zones raising concerns over civilian safety in densely populated parts of the territory. The Israeli military provided no immediate elaboration on the child’s death or the precise locations beyond its claim of targeting threats.

Gaza health officials have recorded more than 1,300 Palestinian deaths from Israeli actions since the U.S.-backed ceasefire took effect in October 2025 according to a Reuters compilation of ministry data. The Israeli military has reported four of its soldiers killed in the same timeframe per its own tallies. Hamas has not commented on the latest deaths while both sides continue to exchange accusations over ceasefire breaches.

The persistence of clashes has stalled broader talks for a permanent resolution with international mediators urging de-escalation to avoid further deterioration. Reuters assessments indicate little headway in negotiations amid the recurring incidents that strain humanitarian conditions throughout Gaza. Hospitals report handling increasing numbers of casualties from such events further taxing limited medical resources.

Data from the health ministry shows a notable proportion of victims in recent months have included women and children highlighting vulnerabilities in the ongoing violence. The latest case adds to the cumulative toll that has complicated recovery efforts in the enclave since the ceasefire began. Palestinian authorities have repeatedly called for investigations into civilian targeting though Israeli officials maintain operations focus exclusively on militant threats.
