Daryo reported that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with senior executives from UAE-based Masdar and AMEA Power on October 17. The discussions produced agreements to fast-track collaborative initiatives across renewable energy, infrastructure development, tourism and a range of service sectors. Participants reviewed the status of existing ventures while identifying fresh opportunities to broaden economic links between the two countries. The meeting forms part of sustained high-level engagement aimed at deepening strategic partnership.
Bilateral trade has grown by 40 percent since the beginning of 2026, according to the Daryo account. This expansion continues a multi-year upward trajectory, with Emirates News Agency data placing non-oil trade at $1.25 billion for 2025, a 52 percent rise from the previous year. UAE Ministry of Foreign Trade figures separately show non-oil trade climbed 68.1 percent year on year to $2.2 billion in the first half of 2026. The gains reflect increased flows in energy, logistics and related commercial activity.
The current Uzbekistan-UAE investment portfolio covers around 100 projects worth more than $20 billion, Emirates News Agency reported. These span renewable energy, urban infrastructure, logistics, technology, agriculture and critical minerals. Both sides have designated 2025-2027 as a New Era of Economic Partnership and set a target of expanding the portfolio toward $50 billion over the coming period.
Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade has driven much of the practical cooperation through recent business forums. Minister Laziz Kudratov engaged UAE counterparts at the Investopia Bridge 2026 event in Abu Dhabi earlier this month, where talks addressed energy, artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, finance, agriculture, tourism and logistics. The ministry statement noted that participants examined Uzbekistan’s privatisation pipeline and infrastructure schemes open to foreign participation.
Deputy Minister Shohrukh Gulyamov held parallel sessions with firms including TAQA Water Solutions, First Abu Dhabi Bank, AD Ports Group and Modon, the ministry added. Discussions with TAQA Water Solutions advanced plans for water treatment plants in New Tashkent and extended an existing project agreement. Meetings with AD Ports Group explored logistics digitalisation, a potential trade and logistics hub and involvement in the Trans-Afghan Transport Corridor while First Abu Dhabi Bank reviewed financing for gas transport and banking sector support.
Emirates News Agency said the latest commitments include up to $6 billion in fresh UAE investment pledges toward Uzbekistan. Masdar has already delivered multiple solar and storage facilities, including a recently commissioned plant in Bukhara and new construction in Kashkadarya valued at more than $600 million. These schemes align with Uzbekistan’s priorities for energy diversification and sustainable infrastructure growth.
