Waya Media reported that Dawraty secured the seed funding to accelerate development of its platform, which uses artificial intelligence to deliver customized review materials aligned with university syllabi in medicine and related disciplines. The capital will support expansion into additional Gulf markets while enhancing features such as adaptive quizzes, flashcards and an AI tutor available around the clock for real-time feedback. Dawraty launched its initial pilot in Kuwait after its founders identified gaps in higher education resources during their own medical studies at local universities.

Company data shared in a TechRevolt interview showed that more than 5,000 students enrolled in the Kuwait pilot within the first year, achieving a 70 percent completion rate on intensive medical review modules. That figure nearly doubles the regional average for online course engagement, with over 85 percent of participants reporting they felt better prepared for final exams than through conventional study methods. One biostatistics exam-prep program produced at least a one-letter-grade improvement for subscribers compared with the class average.

Tracxn figures place total venture capital and private equity raised by Kuwaiti edtech startups at more than $6.45 million across the past decade, with 2023 recording the highest annual inflow at $4 million. Dawraty, founded in 2022, joins a small group of funded companies in the sector by concentrating exclusively on personalized higher education in fields including chemistry, physics, calculus and statistics. The platform has since extended operations to Bahrain, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, adopting direct-to-student models in some countries and institutional partnerships in others.

Founders Ryan Dougherty, Thunayan Al-Thunayan and Hamad Al-Thunayan leverage backgrounds in healthcare strategy, investment analysis and management information systems to guide product development. Dawraty completed the Meta Llama Design Drive accelerator cohort and was recently accepted into the DOHE Go-Together EdTech Accelerator based in London. The company disclosed that it surpassed both revenue and subscription targets for 2025, signaling robust demand for its localized AI tools.

A Report Linker industry assessment projected the broader MENA edtech market to reach $7 billion by 2027, fueled by post-pandemic shifts toward digital learning and national strategies to build skilled workforces. Saudi Arabia, with more than two million university students, has emerged as a key growth area where Dawraty is testing hybrid pilots that combine consumer and institutional offerings. Jordan has likewise proven fertile because of its large pools of medical and engineering enrollees at institutions such as the University of Jordan.

Waya Media noted that the fresh capital arrives as Dawraty refines its B2B SaaS components for universities seeking to integrate personalized learning pathways. The platform continues to partner with instructors from leading medical faculties to ensure content remains closely tied to current curricula across the region. Expansion plans prioritize infrastructure improvements that maintain high completion rates while broadening access for students in underserved locations.
